Inter-Lake Regatta This Weekend In Clear Lake

Approximately 75 sailboats compete in this weekend’s Inter-Lake Regatta on Clear Lake, a 115-year tradition, an old-fashioned team regatta, with type X, MC, C and E sailboats expected.
The Inter-Lake rotates between Clear Lake and Lake Okoboji in Iowa, and Minnesota’s Lake Minnetonka, and White Bear Lake. Team standings are emphasized over individual standings, as is the case with most regattas. Competitors this weekend come from seven or eight different lakes from around the Midwest. Spectators are welcome to come to the Sea Wall area, with competition starting Friday, and continuing through Saturday and Sunday.

My column for August ~ Bruce Wasenius

I was thinking of how many of these column things I have done beginning in January 2016 a few months after having been fired from my job at the radio station and it must be around thirty.
That seems like a lot to me. Generally what happens is I will have some idea I want to mention which I have already forgotten by the 1st of the month. Meanwhile something else gets my attention and is where I wind up.
I will come up with enough to look like a lot, check for obvious errors of spelling or grammer, hit the send and erase it from memory.
This month isn't very different some personal things my youngest son will be 18 by this time next week aND my Auntie Helen will be 103. My siblings are in their early 80's as is one my last remaining cousins. So as long as my annual visits to my cardiologist come back happy I just keep on smiling.
Only serious note some people have been on death's door and revived to a profound feeling and a major rearrangement of their priorities of life. That never happened to me, I was in a position where surgery could have gone wrong and I might not have recovered.
There was no epiphany. The last time I came to saying that I beat the Reaper and laughed.
I figure I am probably doing what I should be.
Anyway, there's a prime example of what I was mentioning earler, looks like a fair amount but says very little.
Have a fantastic August. September closing in.
