Bicycle, Blues, BBQ, Beer! Perfect Summer Weekend.

Saturday, July 8

The time trial is a race against the clock and begins at 7:30 AM near Lions Field on North 8th Street (also known as Grouse Ave. or CR S28). It will be an out-and-back course of about 7 miles.
At 11:00 AM, the BBQ starts heating up, and the blues music continues into the evening.  All eyes turn to the BBBQ criterium event at 11:00 AM for fast bike race action at City Park.

Saturday’s music starts with two fantastic workshops at the Lickety Split Blues Society Tent in beautiful Central Park, with the pre-party underway at 5:00 at the Surf District Rock ‘n Roll Grill. Saturday’s blues headliner begins at 8:30 on the Band Shell stage in Central Park at 8:30 p.m. featuring the Cash Box Kings.

The Cash Box Kings

Hailing from the “Windy City”, the Cash Box Kings are keeping REAL DEAL old school Chicago Blues alive. THE CBK’s are one of a few bands on the national scene playing TRADITIONAL CHICAGO BLUES the way it’s supposed to be played. They can nail the 1940’s & 50’s Chicago and Memphis scene.  With 6’3″ 300lb frontman Oscar Wilson who is described as part Muddy Waters and part Cedric the Entertainer they can put on one heck of a stage show. With many Blues Blast awards to their credit including album of the year, their latest release “Holding Court” is just another notch in their belt. They simply are one of the best Blues bands in the land. Learn more about the Cash Box Kings on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/thecashboxkings.
