August 9 - 10, 2018
Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) Fireworks Extravaganza – North Iowa Events Center, 3700 4th St. SW (641-423-33811).  We have all seen fireworks but NOTHING compares to the displays during the PGI Convention! This family oriented event sets itself apart with cutting-edge entertainment featuring ground and aerial fireworks that is maliciously choreographed with music and other special effects. The Pyrotechnics Guild International is back bigger and better than ever to light up the sky in the North Iowa Area; unable to be seen anywhere except from the comfort of your seat in the Grandstand. In addition, only those in the grandstands will be able to hear the synchronized music creating “a dance” with the fireworks and feel the heat! General admission tickets are $18 before July 22 and $20 after – children ages 5 and under do not require tickets for Sunday/Tuesday shows. Reserved seating $25 (sections A, B, F, & G) $30 (sections C, D & E). Everyone must have a ticket for Friday’s show. Tickets often sell out, purchase presale tickets online  https://www.showclix.com/events/17811# If shows are not sold out, tickets will be available at the gate. Food vendors will be on site for your convenience. Rain dates: August 6, 11 & 18. Bottle Share- Fat Hill Brewing, 17 N. Federal Ave (641-423-0737). Join Fat Hill Brewing the second Thursday of each month from 4-8pm for Bottle Share Night! Craft beer lovers are encouraged to bring at least 16 ounces of a new, rare, old, oddball or just plain delicious beer they'd like to share. Whether it’s a 2004 Cantillon Loerik you traded a kidney for, or just a great pale ale you had at the tiny brewery near your grandma’s house last weekend, beer geeks are encouraged to bring anything they’d like to share. If you’re a big enough beer nerd to have a favorite sampling glass, feel free to bring it. If not, we’ve got a clean glass for you! This is a casual, come-and-go-as-you-please event. There is no fee, but we do suggest a generous tip for your friendly bartender who will be cleaning up after us all night. As always, over-imbibing is not allowed. Hard alcohol is never allowed in our taproom. The bottle share is for beer only. http://www.fathillbrewing.com/
