My Column For June--Bruce Wasenius

Closing in on the halfway point of MMXVII and rolling down to another year. Sitting listening to the radio, the station I work at 4 hours a week of course. You might recall my column from last year about how our cd player has a mind of it's own...it's now muerte and won't even play the disc cleaner cd.
As much as I enjoy the tunes on the radio (occasionally hear myself promoting my 4 hour show) I sit here with hundreds of cd's idling until I get a new player. It's preventing me from listening to them.
My friend Bill really likes Spotify and has made some genres of hundreds of songs. I know that pretty much any cd I have can be found on their site in full but there's something about holding that cd or album, reading the credits for the names of the musicians and the producer, things not usually immediately available on an on line song.
One thing I'm going to do is to take the machine apart and see if the Goat's Head Soup cd is in there.
Concert season, I've been to some already and more in the next few days and weeks.
My niece and her husband drove down from Mpls. for a show at the Surf recently and to experience the venue with greater access to the stage than at the sold out ZZ Top show a couple of years ago. As great as it is to have such a large turnout it can be a little daunting.
Looking forward to some traveling this summer from near to far including some I've never been to before.
I hope the season is good for you and more than anything have some fun, getting older is not synonymous with boring.
I will check in with the daily Songs of the Day, well over 400 different songs and I hope you'll continue to visit our website.

A Real Summer Weekend. Ahhh, At Last
