Bunny Show - Willowbrook Mall, 1631 4th St. SW. (641-424-4002). Real bunnies on display and for sale from 9:00am-4:00pm.

Roller Skating - Roller City, 600 2nd NW (641-423-2000). Morning Skate: 10am-12pm - A slower pace geared towards younger families, $10 per family. Afternoon Skate: 1pm-4pm - The most popular session for parties and larger groups, $6 per skater. Night Skate: 7pm-10pm - Most popular skating session with Jackpot Dice Game and much more, $7 per skater.

Easter Bunny Pictures - Willowbrook Mall, 1631 4th St. SW. (641-424-4002). Bring your own camera and come get your picture taken with "Crayola Bunny". Crayola Bunny will be at the mall from 10am-Noon & 1pm-3pm.  

Easter Tea - The Decker House, 119 2nd St. SE (641-423-4700) A three course High Tea will be served featuring a scone course, savory course and dessert course.  Enjoy tea and treats in a historical setting with an Easter theme. Country legend Loretta Lynn to perform in D.M. on July 7

One of country music’s leading women for generations, Loretta Lynn, is bringing her collection of iconic songs to Des Moines this summer.
Set to take place July 7 at Hoyt Sherman Place, tickets to see Lynn go on sale at 10 a.m. April 21 and can be purchased at the Hoyt Sherman Place box office, by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at ticketmaster.com. The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
“Lynn is ... one of the most awarded musicians of all time,” a news release said. “She has been inducted into more music halls of fame than any female recording artist, including The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was the first woman to be named the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year in 1972.”
A staple in country music since the 1960s, Lynn is known for her performance on timeless singles such as “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’,” “Fist City” and “After The Fire Is Gone.”
Lynn last performed at Hoyt Sherman Place in 2011.
Country music legend Loretta Lynn is scheduled to perform July 7 at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 21.

Women Playing Hamlet
This all-female Tallgrass Theatre Company show tells the story of Jessica, an actress who is cast as Hamlet in a New York Production, and how she tries to figure out herself as she also figures out just how to play the male lead role in the Shakespeare tragedy. 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Historic Valley Junction Spring Gallery Night
Visit galleries in Historic Valley Junction and see new artwork by regional, national and international artists during Spring Gallery Night, in its 22nd year. The Flaming Lips
Experience one of the elaborate live shows of psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips when they make a stop at Hoyt Sherman Place. Past shows have included elements such as balloons, puppets, video projections and even giant hands.
The band first became popular in the early ’90s with their hit “She Don’t Use Jelly” and have since collaborated with artists like Ke$ha, Erykah Badu and Miley Cyrus. 7:30 p.m.

Def Leppard with Poison and Tesla
Wells Fargo will be rocking when Def Leppard takes the stage, bringing with them Poison and Tesla. Def Leppard got their start in the late ’70s and really hit their stride in the ’80s, when rock anthems like “Photograph,” “Love Bites” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me” blasted from the radio and hooked a whole generation. The band continues to produce albums and play to sold-out crowds, with new music and classic hits. Moore, a Rowan native, is Lucinda Holliday, "a small-town boy with a city flair."

Oil paintings and pastels by Iowa artist and educator Diane Blair Kunzler are on display in the Auditorium Gallery at North Iowa Area Community College until May 5.
Meet the artist and enjoy refreshments and lively discussion during an Artist's Talk and Reception at 2 p.m. today, April 13, in the gallery. All are invited.
Blair Kunzler's work has been recognized and displayed in numerous galleries across America. Her work is also on exhibit at the Des Moines Art Center in its annual juried show.
"I have spent the majority of my adult life living in small, rural Iowa towns," she said in an artist's statement, "yet my artistic connection to the surrounding land and water was initially surprising to me. ...Over time and repeated exposure, the land and water of Iowa and the Midwest has gradually invaded my consciousness and shaped my imagery."
