One of country music’s leading women for generations, Loretta Lynn, is
bringing her collection of iconic songs to Des Moines this summer.
Set to take place July 7 at Hoyt Sherman Place, tickets to see Lynn go
on sale at 10 a.m. April 21 and can be purchased at the Hoyt Sherman
Place box office, by phone at 800-745-3000 or online at ticketmaster.com. The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
“Lynn is ... one of the most awarded musicians of all time,” a news
release said. “She has been inducted into more music halls of fame than
any female recording artist, including The Country Music Hall of Fame
and the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was the first woman to be named the
Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year in 1972.”
A staple in country music since the 1960s, Lynn is known for her
performance on timeless singles such as “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Don’t
Come Home A-Drinkin’,” “Fist City” and “After The Fire Is Gone.”
Lynn last performed at Hoyt Sherman Place in 2011.
