Through June 10 ~ The Principal Charity Classic
This annual PGA Tour Champions event has raised more than $13.5 million for Iowa children’s charities since it started
in 2007. Last year, fan favorites Fred Funk, Jay Haas, Lee Janzen,
Jesper Parnevik, Fuzzy Zoeller and more participated in the tournament

June 7-17 ~ ‘Prowess’
In this hilarious action comedy, Zora decides she has had enough and
with a group of friends proceeds to take on crime in Chicago. The play
is directed by two-time Cloris Leachman Award winner Ken-Matt Martin

Hear people from your community share their stories about cultures
mixing, changing and thriving in Iowa during the Des Moines Storytellers
Project event “Blended.” Each speaker works with journalists from the
Des Moines Register to craft their story and hone it into an engaging
dialogue. Choose from a 5:30 or 8:30 p.m.

June 8 ~ Concert on the Prairie
The Friends of Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge are hosting a
special concert event at the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, 9981
Pacific St., Prairie City. Enjoy a wine tasting featuring wines of Iowa
and a special exhibit showcasing the works of Iowa nature artists,
including signed works by Maynard Reece. After a delicious meal, listen
to Jonny Lipford, eight-time Native American music awards recipient,
performing his melodies on the open prairie. Take a guided nature hike

June 8-17 ~ Pyramid Theatre Company presents ‘Prowess’
A group of friends decide to take on the violence in Chicago by
becoming superheroes. “Prowess” is a smart and funny new play packed

The evening includes games, food, generous auction items thanks to
local businesses, and live music. Proceeds will benefit Iowa Kidsave,
an organization that matches older Colombian orphan children with Iowa

June 10 ~ Celebrating Louise Rosenfield Noun in Five Stories
Join in for an afternoon of stories about Louise Rosenfield Noun
(1908-2003), one of Des Moines’ most transformative civic and cultural
leaders. She led the way in restructuring Des Moines’ city government,
protecting civil liberties, advancing feminist causes, guiding the Des
Moines Art Center to become a world-class institution and energizing the
philanthropic landscape of the community. A champagne reception will
follow in the lobby of the museum. The event is in conjunction with the
exhibition “In the Spirit of Louise Noun.” Des Moines Art Center, 4700

Billboard Jazz Albums Chart when Diana Krall makes a stop at Hoyt
Sherman Place on her “Turn Up the Quiet World Tour.” Krall has five
Grammy Awards and is one of the most celebrated jazz artists of our
