Outstanding Owls - Lime Creek Nature Center ,
3501 Lime Creek Rd. (641-423-5309). Everybody loves
owls – they adorn many of our clothes, accessories, and home décor. But how
much do you actually know about the ones we have here in Iowa? Learn about
owls, their amazing adaptations, and the species that call Iowa home with Lime
Creek’s naturalist intern, Brianna Sholly. The end of the program will cover
how biologists study owls in the wild and walk you through an owl call survey.
If the weather permits, we’ll even try to do a few owl surveys outside at Lime
Creek! All ages are welcome for the indoor presentation. Starts at 6pm. The

Jack Helgren Memorial Race - The weekend is filled with
family friendly snowmobiling fun. Friday evening starts with the Cruise around
beautiful Clear Lake and DJ at the VFW.
Saturday features snowmobile racing including LeMans "Style".
Racing and Radar Runs. The races consist of vintage to brand new sleds. There
are many classes including a class where the age of the rider and age of the
snowmobile must add to 80 (the older you are- the newer the sled you can ride
and also includes a Ladies only class. Additionally there will be concessions,
vendors and Saturday night events include the award banquet and a band at the
Clear Lake VFW. The event is a memorial to Jack Helgren, an area businessesman,
avid snowmobiler, former dealer/racer and promoter of the sport and the area.

Say YES to the (Prom) Dress- Central Gardens of North Iowa
(Pavilion Building), 800 2nd Ave N. Donations of prom (and
homecoming) dresses are needed for a fundraiser for the upcoming play “Our
Town”. Jody Hamilton is hosting this fundraiser to collect prom (and homecoming
dresses), shoes, jewelry and also men’s formal wear. Dresses will be resold at
$50 each with proceeds going to Central Gardens. Dresses, men’s formal wear and
accessories can be dropped off at the Clear Lake High School Counselor’s office
or at Central Gardens. Central Gardens hours of collection will be Wednesday –
Feb.1, 8 & 15 from 3pm to 5pm; Thursdays- Feb. 2, 9, & 16 from 3pm-5pm;
