Eagles Reschedule Des Moines Concert

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group the Eagles announced Friday the band’s Des Moines concert has been rescheduled. Originally set for March 21, the group will now perform at Wells Fargo Arena on March 26.

All tickets will be honored at the new date and fans unable to attend the rescheduled date can seek a refund at the point of purchase. Tickets are still for sale and cost $99.50, $149.50 or $229.50 before fees via Hy-VeeTix.com. The show kicks off at 8 p.m.

One of the best-selling groups in American rock ‘n’ roll history, the Eagles return to Des Moines following the January 2016 death of co-founding member Glenn Frey. The group announced earlier this year that Frey’s son, Deacon Frey, and Grammy Award-winning country songwriter Vince Gill would replace Glenn Frey on the road.

The California-born band last played Des Moines on Sept. 6, 2014; Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh performed solo at the arena in 2017, opening for the late Tom Petty in what would be his last Iowa appearance.

The scheduled Des Moines show, coined “Evening with the Eagles,” comes ahead of a planned summer stadium tour for the group alongside the likes of Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor and Chris Stapleton.

Known for blurring the lines of country, rock ‘n’ roll and traditional pop music, the Eagles — composed of remaining members Walsh, Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit — found world-renowned success in the 1970s for numbers such as “Hotel California,” “Take it Easy,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” “Desperado,” “Take it to the Limit” and “Lyin’ Eyes.” The group has sold an estimated 120 million albums worldwide.

Based on the novel by Stephen King, “Misery” tells the story of a novelist who wakes up captive in the home of his “number-one fan” after she rescues him from a car crash.
