Indulge — A Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Affair
This event pairs artisan cheeses, chocolates and wines and features a live-action station with chef Cyd Koehn, who will be preparing a flaming cheese dish prepared inside a giant Parmesan wheel. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door.

UTOPIA — The Iowa Musical Revue
See the all-new Version 5.0 of UTOPIA, the musical that celebrates — and pokes a little fun at — the great state of Iowa. The show consists of more than a dozen original sketches and more than 30 parodies from some of the biggest musicals, including Rent, Hairspray and more. 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago
Part of the Des Moines Civic Center’s 2017-18 season Dance Series, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago brings one of the most original forces in contemporary dance to Des Moines. Moscow Festival Ballet Presents ‘Giselle’
“Giselle” tells the story of a humble peasant girl who dies of a broken heart before being summoned from her grave by a group of supernatural women, who dance men to death. Although they target Giselle’s lover for death, her love sets him free. See “Giselle” performed by the Moscow Festival Ballet, which merges the highest classical elements of two of Russia’s greatest ballet companies. 7:30 p.m. Stephens Auditorium, 1900 Center Drive, Ames. Stomp
Experience the Broadway phenomenon Stomp, where the eight-member percussion troupe plays anything but traditional instruments, using brooms, garbage cans, matchboxes, wooden poles, Zippo lighters, hubcaps and more to fill the theater with a pulsating, electric beat and wow the crowd with unique rhythms. Feel the noise at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 5 and 9 p.m.

‘Misery’
Based on the novel by Stephen King, “Misery” tells the story of a novelist who wakes up captive in the home of his “number-one fan” after she rescues him from a car crash. While he is recovering, she begins reading the manuscript for his latest novel, becoming enraged when she discovers he has killed off her favorite character. The novelist then is forced to rewrite his novel as if his life depends on it, which it does. 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. ‘One Funny Mother’
Anyone who is a mother, is married to a mother or has a mother won’t want to miss this hilarious solo comedy about motherhood, starring comedian Dena Blizzard. Follow Dena as she cleans the house, readying for a “Girls’ Night Out” and in the process laments how her life and marriage have changed since she became a mom and she ponders if she really has gone crazy since having these kids.

Estonian National Symphony Orchestra
Grammy Award-winning Estonian National Symphony Orchestra started as a small radio orchestra in 1926 and has since grown to 100 musicians. The group, with a repertoire ranging from baroque music to contemporary works, performs more than 60 concerts each year and receives high acclaim for its festival appearances in Scandinavia, Europe and the former Soviet Union. 7:30 p.m. Stephens Auditorium, 1900 Center Drive.

Winter Blues Fest
Hear 20 blues acts under one roof when the 24th annual Winter Blues Fest takes over the Downtown Des Moines Marriott. The festival, curated by the Central Iowa Blues Society, features Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal, Steepwater Band, Reverend Raven and the Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys, Jason Ricci, Grand Marquis, Anthony Gomes, Kilborn Alley Blues Band, Eric Jerardi, Kevin “BF” Burt, Amanda Fish Band, Malcolm Wells and the Two-Timers, Heath Alan Band and more.
