Enjoy reading ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae as you walk, with pages from the book displayed in windows downtown. Directions to the next pages are on each sign. The MCPL StoryWalk will be displayed until July 31st.

Hank Hall won Best in Show during the Iowa Crafts: 42 exhibitions in 2016.  The exhibit will feature his clay and mixed media sculptures in a 2018 exhibition. Open during all normal operating hours.

June 22 ~ Chasing Lovely
Folk-pop duo and sisters Chasing Lovely have been celebrated in recent years for their hauntingly beautiful acoustic performances as well as their mission to provoke thought, promote understanding and capture both glimmers of light and darkness as they share the deeply moving human experience through song. 7:30 p.m. The Stoner Theater, 221 Walnut St. Tickets are $15 at desmoinesperformingarts. org.
Nick Swardson
Stand-up comedian and actor Nick Swardson, known for his Comedy Central sketch show and special as well as his appearances in movies such as “The Do-Over” and Netflix’s “The Ridiculous Six,” makes a stop at Hoyt Sherman Place on his “Too Many Smells 2018” Tour. 8 p.m. 1501 Woodland Ave.

June 22-24 ~ Des Moines Arts Festival
Earning the coveted International Festivals & Events Association Grand Pinnacle Award for nine consecutive years, the Des Moines Arts Festival has been celebrated both locally and worldwide for being a phenomenal cultural experience. The festival features the nation’s top professional artists and emerging Iowa artists in a juried artwork in a variety of mediums. Visitors can also experience performing arts in many forms, interactive exhibits, live music and the Interrobang Film Festival. The Des Moines Arts Festival spans the entire weekend, from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

June 22-23 ~ Big Country Bash
With headliners like Brett Eldredge, Kane Brown and Dan + Shay, the Big Country Bash promises to be two days of nonstop country music excitement.
Other artists scheduled to perform are Midland, Aaron Watson, Phil Vassar, Russell Dickerson, Raelynn, Tucker Beathard and Justin Adams.
