The
Pyrotechnics Guild International, Inc., or PGI, will host its annual
“Thunder and Fire” convention at the North Iowa Events Center, 3700
Fourth St. SW, Mason City, from Aug. 4-10 with three evenings of public
fireworks displays. The
public fireworks displays, showcasing ground and aerial
pyrotechnics choreographed with music and special effects, will be held
at dusk on Sunday, Aug. 5; Tuesday, Aug. 7; and Friday, Aug. 10, weather
permitting. Gates open at 6
p.m. Tickets for the displays cost $20 and can be purchased at the Mason
City Visitor Center and the North Iowa Events Center. The event draws between 2,000 and 5,000
