My Column for April--Bruce Wasenius

Hi again, I hope it's been a good March for you.
The Fourth month already. Hopefully you are warm and snow free. I am more than ready for some sunny 80 degree weather.
For the first time since 1959 Easter and April 1st both are on this Sunday. It's April Fool's Day. Are you a prankster?
I've really been much of a fan of practical jokes. Pretty much amounts to waking everyone up with You Should See All This Snow, catch them early before they can realize what's up.
All of the April firsts when I was on the air I usually either say we were converting to talk radio or something.
When I was in the Navy one year on this day I told my parents I was coming home on leave on the 2nd and Surprised them on the 1st.
Nastiest one another April Fool's Day was going home again and had to be at the airport early so I set my alarm for 4:00 am and wound it up and locked it in my locker. It was a wind up alarm so once it went off you had to manually shut it off or wait until it wound down. That was a good one.
Last night I recorded a happy Christmas message to play right after midnight and haven't done much today.
I have commented before about the Surf Ballroom and the vibes from being there.
Last night was sold out somewhere near 2000 people in attendance for a rock concert. I have been to a number of Winter Dance Parties there and those are always sold out. Part of the joy comes from listening to those that are there for the first time and of course it's like old times with the people who I've known from anywhere in the last 40 years.
In it's own way the shows that have only a few hundred in the crowd are more intimate and have a special feeling shared by by everyone.
Anyway I really don't have any "deep thoughts" to share with you. I'll probably think of all kinds of things I meant to comment on as soon as I finish.
Being Insubordinate is a matter of thinking outside the norm without getting into legal trouble or fired or having someone think you're a butt head. But that's up to you.
Until May 1st enjoy the moments of peace and happiness whenever you get the chance.
