Exhibit: Hava Hegenbarth: Capturing the Natural World - Charles H. MacNider Art Museum(Center Space Gallery), 303 2nd St. SE (641-421-3666). The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is pleased to highlight the whimsical images created by Mason City artist, Hava Hegenbarth.  Hava Hagenbarth: Capturing The Natural World, includes 29 prints and drawings.  Hagenbarth’s artwork, featuring an assortment of animals and natural landscapes, will transport the viewer to the continent of Africa without leaving North Iowa. Hegenbarth is retired from the U.S. Foreign Service where she served primarily in Africa.  She always had a love and talent for art but pursued other interests in her career.  She now has the free time to create the art she loves and share it with Museum visitors.  Exhibit will be on display until September 23, 2017 - open during normal museum hours. https://macniderart.org/

3rd Annual CLDT Glo-Run/Walk -City Park/Sea Wall, Downtown Clear Lake (641-430-8765). We are excited to announce our 3rd Annual GLO-RUN! The run/walk will start at 8:30pm at the seawall by City Park; the route will take the runners down South Shore Drive to Pine Tree Park then back to the finish line at the City Park seawall. There will be free glo-products, t-shirts (to those who registered by Aug. 8th) and participants will be asked to wear reflector tape! Participants are encouraged to have fun with this event- get a team together, dress-up in glo-in-the dark gear, bright colored outfits, ect. Get your group together today! If you are unable to run/walk during this event we ask that you join in on the route to cheer on the participants- bring out your lawn chairs along the route and enjoy watching while cheering us on! Yoga Hike - Lime Creek Nature Center, 3501 Lime Creek Rd. (641-423-5309). Join us for a relaxing and rejuvenating Saturday morning as we hike approximately one hour, and enjoy a 30-45 minute outdoor yoga class as well. Preregistration is not necessary. Please meet us in the nature center parking lot 10-15 minutes early. Participants will be required to sign a waiver before we begin. Hikes will be cancelled if it is raining or rain is imminent. Bring an old yoga mat or large towel / blanket, as well as anything else you may want or need - such as water, insect repellent, and sunscreen. We will carry our mats with us as we hike. Slow Ride Sunday - Rancho Deluxe, 500 2nd St. NE. It's Waynes Ski and Cycle Slow Ride Sunday time and the Iowa Grill is making our debut at the beautiful Rancho Deluxe Bicycle Garden! This ride is free for all ages, and all abilities. A nice slow 7 or 8 miles (approx. 1 hour) using Mason City's amazing bike trails! Start and end at the Rancho Deluxe. Ride begins at 5:30pm with food and drinks served around 6:30. We will be serving Toasty Dogs along with iced tea and lemonade! If you want to get a hands on experience of some history of Mason City this is an amazing spot to do it! The Rancho Deluxe Bicycle Garden is made of many pieces of Mason City history. Grab your bike, (maybe dust it off?) and come on down! You'll never know what you'll find at Rancho Deluxe!
