My column for September ~ Bruce Wasenius

August just kind of disappeared and it's the 9th month of 2018.
Some thoughts about the constantly either too hot or too wet to do much outdoors, bad summer for getting any golf practice in or do anything in the yard.
Today the 1st falls on Saturday so the Insubordination Train will be off in another direction each Saturday night as it has now for 90 plus weeks. Related to that last night (8/31) I was back out on Clear Lake this time with a boat full of radio listeners who were very kind in the nice comments about my being back on air.
A couple of things about the passing of the Queen of soul. I never had the opportunity to see her in concert. She was our queen, the boomers who were all around a few years of her. She would be a guest on shows and a treat when she would perform.
She could reach out and touch you with just a note or two, and she could surprise you by singing opera at the Grammy's.
40 years is a long time no matter how you look at it and I'm happy to say some of those people are still around and have some memories.
Our editor remembers when I used to bring my first son with me while I was at the radio station in his car carrier. He will be 24 in about a week.
Lots of things going on this month, the rotation of the planet makes the daylight diminish more quickly.
I hope you have a happy and healthy month.
Until October...
